Inspired by Black Swan, the 2010 movie by Darren Aronofsky, that showed the psychological fracturing and decline of a professional ballerina trying against all odds to play the part she knew she was meant to play. Using the white feathers to encroach upon the black swan character mirrors the omnipresent white swan persona that pushed against Nina, played by Natalie Portman, before being finally consumed by the black swan and incidentally ending it all.
Some progress work on a movie poster for Black Swan, the 2010 Darren Aronofsky psychosexual thriller starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. I think I worked out the contrast between the black and white negative space finally, and like the way its going so far.

Cygnus floats daintily on the gently lolling waters of his favorite pond.

This series pertains to the constellations and their real or not so real animal counterparts. The image is an illustrated painting of the animal covered with the constellation bearing its name.
