This alternative movie poster is an homage to the scifi masterpiece ‘Sunshine’ by Danny Boyle. The main image is an interpretation of the golden sun suit from the movie as an iconographic image akin to a heiroglyphic image of the Egyptian sun god Ra. This portrayal is metaphor for the reigniting of the sun by the main character, giving life by powering the sun.
Some progress work on alternative movie posters for the new classics Sunshine from Danny Boyle and Moon from director Duncan Jones. Attempting to infuse some iconographic imagery in the paintings, with halos and a sun icon reminiscent of Ra from Egyptian art.
Not trying to get too pretentious here, I just thought the imagery would be fun. More to come!
