A little poster inspired by the movie adaptation of the classic, Caldecott medal winning children’s bookWhere the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. The eyes of the Wild Things peek out of the forest around the stylized crown to represent Max, the main character of the story. I tired to imbue this piece with a sense of whimsy and ethereal light akin to the novel and its movie adaptation.

If you knew me, you would know that I adore and was inspired by Tim Burton for most of my artistic life. Here is a print of a portrait I painted as an homage to the man, in period garb of course, a la Sleepy Hollow and the like. The second print included is a companion piece created to go along with my Tim Burton painting, of his wife, actress Helena Bonham Carter. I think I love her almost as much as Tim Burton. She is dressed here in period garb, a la many of the Burton movies she has been in, as well as Harry Potter.

This guy needs some teeth, and he’s not afraid to say so! This is another of my illustrations available at my etsy store.
